The WER Tournament promotes strong collaboration within each team and motivates its participants to distribute multiple tasks in order to meet time sensitive deadlines.  Each team is comprised of 2-3 participants, who will design and build a robot that must complete a series of required tasks provided in the contest.

Just two hours before the Tournament starts, an assignment will be provided to each team. The assignment is required to be completed without help from a professor. The main reason why assignments are distributed in real time is to provide a fair setting in which participants will need to adapt and showcase their knowledge without any external assistance.

The teams will be assigned to a category and will compete against other teams in the same category. Points will be assigned to each task. A robot will obtain points if it is able to complete the required task. The team that obtains the most cumulative points will be the winner for their assigned category.
